Department of Social Protection, Tullamore – The works involved demolition and reconfiguration of the internal office space to create a new layout for both public and staff requirements. During the works, the building was kept live throughout and the work was carried out on a phased bases. Temporary dust screens were erected between work areas for protection. Existing ceilings and floor finishes were removed and disposed. Existing walls were demolished and new walls constructed in new locations to created the new ‘DSP layout required. Structural alterations were carried out to accommodate the fitting of dividing folding partitions. New ventilation systems and air-conditioning were installed in the new offices and existing services altered. All mechanical & electrical were updated for the new areas. New fire doors & fire screens were fitted throughout. The finishes included, new suspended ceiling and carpet tiles/marmoleum fitted. Complete decoration of the work area. A new public reception counter was installed along with separate PSC desk
